Outdoor Sauna area
At the Asia Spa Leoben our multi-faceted sauna area combined with one of Austria’s most creative Aufguss programmes (German for infusion, Finnish löyly, a ritual involving creating steam by pouring liquid onto hot stones and circulating the air in the sauna) provides a blissful sense of relaxation for all our guests. Gone are the days when a visit to a sauna was just about building up a good sweat. At the Asia Spa Leoben up to 16 different, elaborately staged Aufguss sessions are offered every day. Our experienced sauna masters are constantly thinking up new ideas, pampering their guests with beneficial salt peelings, beer Aufguss sessions, singing bowl meditations and much more. The themes range from “Caution, hot!” for regular sauna-goers, via “Gentle skin-care” to “Entertainment”, making your visit to the sauna fun. After a visit to the sauna area enjoy the very special feeling of being “relaxed, full of vitality and as if reborn”.
The loft sauna is a classic Aufguss sauna. It comprises benches for sitting or lying on at various levels, enabling guests to choose between temperatures of 55°C to 90°C, depending on where they sit.
Tea house sauna
The tea house sauna is an Aufguss sauna which is designed to resemble a Japanese tea house. It comprises benches for sitting or lying on at various levels, enabling guests to choose between temperatures of 55°C to 95°C, depending on where they sit.
In the indoor sauna area you will find a plunge pool. Regular sauna-goers optimise the effectiveness of their sauna session by cooling off afterwards in the plunge pool
If you want more of a “seaside” experience, then take a dip in our brine bath, which is enriched with natural bath salts. The salt assists the cleansing of the skin and strengthens the upper layers of the dermis. At the same time, the salt water stimulates the circulation and relaxes the joints.
What effect does a bath in brine have?
The brine water has a similar effect on the skin as a peeling. The salt crystals penetrate deep into the pores, loosen the skin muscles and thus improve oxygen uptake via the largest sensory organ. The skin becomes soft and radiant due to the movement in the brine water.
A bath in brine-containing water promotes the blood circulation of the skin and supports not only the physical but also the body’s own well-being. The brine promotes the alleviation of skin complaints, such as those that occur with diseases such as neurodermatitis, and strengthens the upper skin layers. The addition of bath salt changes the osmotic balance of the water. This means that the water withdraws fewer salts from the body and inhibits the formation of wrinkles in the skin.
Pleasant side effect of brine water: The addition of salt increases the relative density of the water so that the body feels lighter than in pools filled with spring water.
Relaxation garden with sun terrace
The relaxation garden with its sun terrace enables those who crave some sunshine to top up on a few warming rays between sauna sessions, or even to enjoy a little snack on the Sauna Bar terrace.
Guests to the sauna area can enjoy a fantastic view over the whole of the Asia Spa Leoben’s facilities from the two rooftop terraces. The fresh air helps you to recharge your batteries and to build up your energy for the next sauna session.
A walk along the barefoot path will stimulate your senses and provide a wonderful foot massage. Our barefoot path is about 40 meters long and starts near the brine bath.
